Living with passion – That’s your destiny
Do you look into the lives of others and wish “'I would love nothing more than to do that, but I can't because I have A, B, C, D obstacles"? This self-doubt is your fear talking. Transcend your fear and make the decision to change your perspective.
Acknowledge that life is a moving circle and that your life won’t always look like it does today – you won’t always have these obstacles, financial burdens, sorrow, depression and so forth. Sure, you might not be able to begin your quest today. But don’t give up on that question within you, that question that is curious about the world and your place in it.
Plan for the future by making a plan. Take the long view if you need but begin today. Make small steps and small changes. Find a way to add a small sliver of your passion into your daily life - even if it is by means of a scrap book, a suitcase of national geographic magazines or a small veggie garden.
Modern day living has trained you to please others. To be the good wife, mother, employee, friend, daughter and so forth. But you are allowed to take ownership and accountability for your own journey. You are allowed to ask, “what serves me – what do I truly want”.
Living with passion is your higher calling, as when you are passionate about something you contribute love into the world.
Bottom line: Passion is a positive energy, uplifting all those that are surrounded by it. The more passion you have then the more love you fuel into the world, as a result you contribute to a more harmonious and kinder planet.
Not Sure What Your Dream Is?
Not sure what your purpose is? Worried you didn't get the memo of what you should be doing with your life? With so many paths for us to choose to walk down – how can we determine which is the right one?
Everybody gets called to their purpose - don't worry if you missed the call the first time I promise it will come back around. The thing with your calling is that it won't leave you alone - it will always seek you out - and after enough time has passed eventually you will hear the calling.
When trying to figure out your calling, look past all the gloss and accolades - think more simply. Your calling is usually based on something that you are deeply passionate about - if it is gardening then garden well, if it is cooking then cook well.
These callings sound so simple - yet when you live with passion you fire love back into the world - as a result people feel good to be around you - you make the world a better place. Quieten your life and mind so that you can hear your calling.
Tell Tale Signs That Your Purpose Is Calling
The pursuit is the beginning of the journey. The pursuit can be recognised when you start asking yourself questions "What is my purpose?" or "What is my role within the world?"
You will get the call and it won’t leave you alone. It will consume you with the want of figuring out what you are here to do. Everybody gets called and if you are brave enough to answer the call the path you then walk will not be easy.
You know when a new dream or path is right for you because you feel a deep sense of excitement, purpose or adventure—a big YES within that doesn’t go away. Usually it comes when you least expect it. And if in doubt – just follow it and see where it leads you. Your dreams are the window to your soul – it’s your inner divine wisdom giving you a nudge – telling you it’s time to experience a new life and a new learning.
There is a high chance you will refuse the first few callings, as you will be filled with self-doubts such as 'I can't do that' or 'That is selfish and self-centred'. You will never feel ready for the calling, which is probably why so many of us hit rock bottom and have that 'dark night of the soul experience' before we actually accept the calling.
Now - listen up. Once you decide to follow your calling it will get tough, as it is a road of trials. You can answer the call or refuse the call. If you don’t do it, you will feel like a big part of you will die. And if you continue to refuse the call you will die in pieces.
Your calling is something that you are passionate about - and it doesn't have to be some grand 'change the world' calling. It just has to change your world and uplift the people that come in contact with you. Succeeding means following the quest and living a passionate life - and it is not about being focused on where it ends.
When ideas and dreams come to us, we often feel a sense of urgency to get it moving. Rather, choose to nurture your dreams with love and allow them to unfold in their own timing. Expect to be challenged, expect to be double guessing yourself, expect to feel despair, expect failure - but once you get past all of that then expect to feel a deep sense of self-contentment and inner peace.
And when one dream dies, don’t be disheartened, for a new space has now been opened for a new dream to be born.
Limitless Potential
When you think you hit rock bottom, there is always another trap door or another lower level. However, when you think you have reached full happiness and higher potential, there is always another level to rise to, more grace, love, compassion, more to shed, more to learn. The world and its possibilities are truly infinite. By following your calling, you will never know where you are led - and that is the beauty of the mystery.
Story of the Bamboo and Fern [from unknown author]
One day I decided to quit… I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality and my dreams. I went to the woods to have a talk with NATURE.
“NATURE”, I said. “Can u give me one good reason not to quit?” “Look around”, NATURE said. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo? When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the 2nd year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful and again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.” “In year 3 there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year 4, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.” NATURE said. “
Then in the 5th year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it couldn’t handle.”
“Did u know, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?” “I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you.” Don’t compare yourself to others. The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful.
